EdwardsEver since they were young children, ministry has been a part of daily life for The Edwards Family. Raised in a Pentecostal church pastored by their grandfather, the family grew together–spiritually and musically. It was there that they developed a passion and adoration for bluegrass gospel music. From old hymns to new gospel songs, and even on down to their own original material, The Edwards Family is always sure to deliver an exciting performance, all while spreading the love of Jesus Christ. Their close family ties and love for the Lord is very evident in their performances and ministry.

For more than ten years the Edwards Family has been playing and singing bluegrass gospel music at churches and music venues throughout the southeast including Dollywood, the IBMA’s in Raleigh, NC and North Carolina’s Lt. Governor Dan Forest’s Swearing-In Celebration. They were honored to receive their first award ever as a family band at the 2005 Junior Bluegrass Champions at Fiddler’s Grove Festival in Union Grove, North Carolina. Throughout the next few years the Lord continuously blessed the family with numerous awards and recognitions, including a second place secured by Alex in 2013 at the prestigious Merlefest Banjo competition in Wikesboro, North Carolina. Most recently Alex won Renofest’s banjo competition in Hartsville, SC. Ronnie Reno presented him with a Yates banjo and the title of 2014 South Carolina’s Banjo Champion.

In 2012 Shane and Alex were featured in “Generation Bluegrass,” a video project introducing some of the most talented up and coming young bluegrass musicians in the country. Their latest CD, “Home,” has just recently been released.  It was recorded at Skaggs Place Records in Nashville, Tennessee and produced by Jared Easter, Alex Edwards and Andy Leftwich. The Edwards Family feels so blessed for the gift of music that the Lord has bestowed upon them. Their desire is to always uplift and glorify their Savior Jesus Christ through their music.

The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD. ~ Isaiah 38:20
